Andrew Stanton Hits Out At Rumors About JOHN CARTER's Budget |

Recent reports have indicated that the budget for John Carter has ballooned towards the $300 million mark, a claim that the director of the movie (Andrew Stanton) recently called, "a complete and utter lie." Talking to the press on Thursday at a junket for the Disney adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels, Movieline reports that he was quick to shoot down the claims that a combination of reshoots and production resulted in the increased spending.
Stanton added, "I want to go completely on record that I literally was on budget and on time the entire shoot. Disney is so completely psyched that I stayed on budget and on time that they let me have a longer reshoot because I was such a good citizen, so I find it ironic that we’re getting accused of the opposite."
