| BLADE RUNNER Sequel To Feature A Female Protagonist |

It's been a while since we've last heard something official about the new Blade Runner film, which will have Ridley Scott (director of the original movie, which starred Harrison Ford) return to the sci-fi/dystopian universe. Lately, Scott has been promoting his new sci-fi film Prometheus (which sees him returning to the Alien universe), and in a lengthy interview with The Daily Beast, he updates on the current status of the Blade Runner sequel/spin off.
"Funny enough, I started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we’ll definitely be featuring a female protagonist."
It was previously rumored that Harrison Ford could return as Deckard in the new film, though that rumor was debunked (though Scott expressed interest in working with Ford again in the future).
