BOX OFFICE: FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM Eyes $200 Million Global Debut This Weekend |

Doctor Strange has been able to enjoy being the #1 movie in the world for the past few weeks, but that will change this weekend when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is released. Directed by David Yates and written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the movie is currently tracking for a debut in North America somewhere between $70 million and $80 million.
Projections also point to the highly anticipated prequel earning around $200 million globally this weekend, something which is helped by the fact that it's being release everywhere at pretty much the same time. With a budget of $180 million, that means Fantastic Beasts will be off to a very good start.
