Things are looking mighty indeed for Joss Whedon and Marvel's The Avengers. Last weekend, film has set a brand new opening weekend record with $207 million, and went on to break a lot more records during the week. Now, in its second weekend, The Avengers is looking to become the first film in history to pass a $100 million mark. Thanks to Deadline, below are the estimates for this weekend:
Marvel’s The Avengers from Disney is looking to break $100M in its second weekend for the first time in movie history (beating Avatar's 75M). Saturday’s number is about $44.5M after Friday’s was $29.1M for an estimated weekend total of $104M.
Meanwhile, Tim Burton's Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp is on track for an underwhelming $28.5M. Also, thanks to Box Office Mojo, these are the all-time box office records that The Avengers broke so far in US:
