BOX OFFICE: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Still Strong With $19.2M For Saturday! |

Rupert Wyatt's latest film Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes starring James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis playing Caesar, opened stronger than expected on Friday with $19 million. Film is getting good buzz from most of the critics, word of mouth should help its weekend gross. Now, it seems that APES collected another $19.2M on Saturday, and it's expected to make between $53M-55M for the weekend. From The Hollywood Reporter:
"Moviegoers continued to flock to 20th Century Fox's Rise of the Planet of the Apes on Saturday, guaranteeing a better-than-expected opening of $53 million at the domestic box office. Rise of the Apes is exceeding all expectations, and breathes new life into the cult sci-fi franchise."
