According to a source for Deadline The Amazing Spider-Man has debuted with $35M, but rival studios claim the number is closer to $32M. Either way it stomps all over Michael Bay's 2007's Transformers, which pulled in $27.8M to set the record for a Tuesday opening.
With the film receiving an ‘A-’ Cinemascore from audiences (an ‘A’ from under age 18 moviegoers) the movie should enjoy some good word of mouth.
