Deadline reports that Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man will finish this weekend with around $35 million; a decent -44% hold. Ice Age 4 (which grossed $45.5 million) is the reason why the Sony Pictures reboot only managed to hold on to the top spot for a week, although the release of The Dark Knight Rises next Friday is expected to completely suck the air out of the box office as Marvel's The Avengers did back in May. Back to this weekend though, and Spidey's latest big screen outing is expected to hit $200 million by close of business and actually passed the $400 million mark at the worldwide box office earlier this week. The studio are said to be confident that the film will end up grossing a worldwide cume of $800 million, although it still has quite a way to go before hitting that figure.
