Deadline reports that after taking roughly $77.2 million on Friday (giving it the third highest opening ever and the best gross in a single day for a 2D movie), The Dark Knight Rises dropped on Saturday with $46.2 million and is now expected to make $39.3 million today. That takes its 3-day weekend total to $163 million (give or take), although it's possible that figure will completely change by close of business today. Why? Well, Warner Bros. and various other tracking agencies have decided to withhold official domestic and worldwide numbers until Monday as a mark of respect to those affected by the shooting in Colorado.
