BOX OFFICE: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Passes $374 Million Worldwide PDF Print E-mail

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises has grossed $44 million on Thursday, with the current international total being $149.2 million. Domestically, the critically acclaimed finale to The Dark Knight trilogy has grossed $224.8M in its first seven days (including a $160.9M opening weekend), compared to $238.6M for 2008's The Dark Knight. Overall, the film has grossed $374M to date (which is a higher gross than Batman Begins' entire theatrical run in 2005). Despite pacing slightly behind The Dark Knight (many box office observers believe that last week's tragic Colorado shooting to be at least partly responsible), the shooting doesn't appear to be hurting the film's international intake. The Dark Knight Rises opens in a total of 40 foreign markets this week following its debut in 17 countries last weekend.
