BOX OFFICE: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Passes $730 Million Worldwide PDF Print E-mail

The ever reliable @giteshpandya has confirmed via their Twitter account that despite a fairly sizeable 47% drop internationally (perhaps as a result of the release of Seth MacFarlane's Ted), The Dark Knight Rises took $67 million this weekend. That takes it to a total of $378.4 million overseas, and combined with the current domestic total of $354.6 million, that gives Christopher Nolan's epic finale to his Batman trilogy a worldwide cume of $733 million. In North America, The Dark Knight Rises has spent the weekend battling it out with Total Recall, although it still came out on top with an estimated $36.4 million. This officially makes the film the second biggest hit of 2012 behind only The Avengers. Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
