BOX OFFICE: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Becomes Hightest Grossing 2011 Film, Green Lantern Falls Out Of Top 10! |

Deadline report that Transformers: Dark of the Moon now holds the record for being 2011's top-grossing domestic film so far. The site note that Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (which recently surpassed $1 billion worldwide) actually made the majority of its money abroad.
They add that, "I've heard from a reliable source that Michael Bay should make between $80M and $100M from Paramount's Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. And, if that's not enough to make you call Hollywood's suicide hotline, then this might be: Transformers 3 will now be the highest grossing movie of the year." So, a pretty good few weeks for Paramount AND Michael Bay then!
