His many tasks will include updating the look of the Collinwood mansion as well as (presumably) Barnabas Collins' place of residence, The Old House. He and Burton previously worked together on the 1982 short Vincent, 1984's Frankenweenie, 1985's Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, 1988's Beetlejuice, 1990's Edward Scissorhands, 1992's Batman Returns, 1993's The Nightmare Before Christmas, 1999's Sleepy Hollow, and 2001's Planet of the Apes. Most intriguing, of course, is the fact that Sleepy Hollow is likely the previous Burton project that will come closest to Dark Shadows, so it should be an interesting collaboration.
