Talking to Cinema Blend, Captain America: The First Avenger screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have revealed a few new details about the future of Steve Rogers, as well as finally letting slip exactly what The Avengers writer and director Joss Whedon did when he contributed to the script.
