Yesterday, the final episode of Batman: The Brave and The Bold aired in the UK. Viewers were surprised with the short clip below of Barbara Gordon fighting crime, CGI style.
Is there more to DC's recent decision to move Barbara Gordon from her wheelchair and place her back into the Batgirl cowl? Whether this was just a fun treat for fans or something that's in active development at Cartoon Network remains to be seen.
Batgirl is the name of several fictional characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics, frequently depicted as female counterparts to the superhero Batman. Originally created by Bill Finger and Sheldon Moldoff, a character that is (arguably) considered by some to be the first incarnation of Batgirl, the "Bat-Girl" Betty Kane, debuted in Batman #139 (April 1961) as the Robin-like sidekick to Batwoman.
