Deadline is reporting that CBS's modern take on Sherlock Holmes will be named Elementary. The show is described as a modern take on the characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle, with Sherlock now living in New York City. Robert Doherty wrote the script and will also be the executive producer for the project, alongside Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman. Official note from Deadline: Elementary, from CBS TV Studios and studio-based Timberman/Beverly Prods., is described as a modern take on the cases of the pipe-smoking private eye created by Arthur Conan Doyle, with Sherlock now living in New York City. Doherty wrote the script and is executive producing the project with Sarah Timberman & Carl Beverly. The first time we heard about the CBS modern take on the character was back in September of last year, when the studio bought the rights for the show. Having this official announcement today come as no surprise
