In a recent issue of USA Weekend, which the leading stars of Marvel's upcoming films this year covered, actors Chris Evans & Chris Hemsworth discuss the many aspects of their pivotal roles. With a sneak peek courtesy of the Chris Evans Blog, read below what Evans had to say regarding the experience & set-environment of Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger.
Firstly speaking on the scene involving jumping in water to stop an escaping enemy on a submarine, Evans says:
“It’s a pretty cool-looking thing actually, he takes off and my character runs and dives in and swims after him and grabs the submarine and punches it. It’s this whole underwater thing, and as I was reading it, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve never done a scene underwater. This is crazy!’ And it was. It was like five days in this giant tank underwater.
