COMICS: Marvel Announced Avengers 1959 By Howard Chaykin! |

The most recent arc in writer Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers ("Infinity") included flashbacks by Howard Chaykin of the President tasking war hero Nick Fury with the "Avengers Initiative." This saw him putting together a team consisting of characters like Kraven the Hunter and Sabretooth for covert missions, the first of which was taking down a secret Nazi group who had created their own twisted version of Captain America. Later this year, Chaykin will return to 1959 with a series further exploring the teams exploits.
