COMICS: Marvel Announces A New DEFENDERS Series Starring The Heroes From The Netflix TV Show |

It was teased in the final few pages of Civil War II #8, but it has now been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that a new series starring The Defenders is on the way. It won't be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but brings the team we'll see on Netflix later this year together in the comic book world. Set to launch in June, we'll get our first glimpse in May during Marvel's Free Comic Book Day offerings.
However, those of you who didn't enjoy Civil War II may be disappointed to learn that Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez are the creative team here. The latter's work is often excellent, while Bendis has done great work with these street level superheroes, but they failed to click with that event.
