Dan Slott has been hard at work with some game-changing twists in his latest Spider-Man story arc, Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy. So far, we've seen the Jackal mysteriously resurface with a new costume, accompanied by previously deceased members of Spider-Man's rogues gallery. It's later revealed that a new scientific process from New U Technologies has allowed for several long-dead characters to be permanently brought back from the dead (including Gwen Stacy and her father), as long as they keep taking special pills.
While the Jackal's new look was thought to be a simple aesthetic change, Slott has been saving another big twist; in the latest issue, The Jackal removes his mask to reveal -- Ben Reilly! As it turns out, the New-U process has reconstituted Peter's clone/prior successor, with all his memories intact, including his death.
