One of the biggest surprises in Avengers Vs. X-Men #9 was the end of Black Panther and Storm's marriage. It was way back in 2006 that the two got married - during the events of Civil War - although it has never felt particularly natural or been a hugely popular relationship among most fans. Well, following Namor's attack on Wakanda which devastated T'Challa's country, he decided that he'd had enough and annulled his marriage to Ororo Munroe (as you can see in the panels from the issue below). In an interview with Newsarama, Avengers vs. X-Men editor Tom Brevoort explained the reason behind the decision.
"I think it’s a little bit of everything. To be honest, I don’t know that we handled Storm and the Panther as a married couple as well as we could have on a consistent basis.
