COMICS: Tony Stark's Fate Is Finally Revealed In The Concluding Chapter Of CIVIL WAR II |

Brian Michael Bendis' Civil War II finally came to a close this week in issue #8. The Marvel comics event has had a rough ride, with its story and plot twists being panned by most critics and a host of delays plaguing the release of the final chapter. The big reveal of the issue, of course, was the fate of Tony Stark; several comics (that were supposed to be released AFTER Civil War II's final issue) have all implied that the founding Avenger is dead, but the final result is unfortunately much more disappointing.
The final battle of the issue shows Captain Marvel dealing what appears to be a fatal blow to the Iron Avenger as she obliterates his armor. However, Stark isn't dead, and later examination of his body by Beast shows that mysterious genetic experimentations Stark made upon himself are keeping him alive and in a comatose state.
