Composer David Arnold Drops Out Of SKYFALL; Thomas Newman To Replace Him PDF Print E-mail

James Bond website MI6 has learned that Thomas Newman - who has scored films such as Road To Perdition and The Shawshank Redemption - has replaced David Arnold as the composer of Sam Mendes' upcoming Bond film Skyfall, set to be released this November. Arnold, who's worked on every Bond film since 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies, will apparently be too busy to score the latest film, due to his being the London Olympics musical director. Newman has worked with director Mendes before, on films such as Revolutionary Road and American Beauty. MI6 understands that American composer Thomas Newman will be scoring the new James Bond film, "Skyfall", due out later this year. Regular series composer David Arnold, who has scored five James Bond entries from "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997) through to "Quantum of Solace" (2008) will be busy in 2012 as he is the London Olympics musical director.
