CONFIRMED: ARRIVAL Director Denis Villeneuve Will Helm The DUNE Reboot For Legendary Pictures |

It looks like the planned Dune reboot has found a heck of a director. Following an initial report from last month, Brian Herbert (son of author Frank Herbert) has officially confirmed that Denis Villeneuve has signed in to bring his father's sweeping sci-fi epic to the big screen for Legendary Pictures.
It's official -- Legendary Pictures has signed the very talented Denis Villeneuve to direct the exciting new DUNE series film project.

Villeneuve's name was recently brought up as a potential replacement for Ben Affleck on The Batman, and although there is always a slim chance he could tackle that project once he's wrapped on Dune, one would assume this takes him out of the picture - if he was ever really in it in the first place, that is.
