David Cronenberg has directed, in my opinion, some of the greatest movies of all time. He is best known for his surreal, body-shock horror movies such as Scanners, The Fly, and Videodrome - and actually has directed a CBM of his own in A History Of Violence. But that didn't involve anyone in tights. Still, with some established directors turning their hands to the superhero flick, it wasn't too far fetched to assume that someone like Cronenberg, who was already familiar with similar genres, may one day want to do the same.
