David O. Russell's Uncharted Script No Longer Being Used For The Movie |

Now that David O. Russell's exit is finalized, fans have rejoiced that the man who was going to make the Uncharted video game adaption a family fueled adventure/drama was no longer making the anticipated film. But even if a director exits, it is not unheard of for studios to still use any script left behind (ex. David O. Russel exited Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, but they will still be using his script even with new director Craig Gillespie).
Well LA TIMES 24 FRAMES BLOG is reporting that Sony will be starting with an earlier draft of the script, and hiring new writers:
"Russell had already turned in a script, but it was a script so long and so ambitious that it was at least partly responsible for the studio and him parting ways, according to two people familiar with the situation who were not authorized to talk about it publicly.
