EDITORIAL: Samuel Jackson Responds To Backlash; Plus My Two Cents |

First off, let me state that I myself am white. The color of someone’s skin should be of little importance, but the racist label is being thrown around today because Samuel L. Jackson made a comment on the 2008 election. Is what Jackson said racist? How is what he said different than people saying that they are voting for the guy they could have a beer with? What about people voting for John F. Kennedy because he was handsome? Let’s flip it around, people said they wouldn’t vote for Kennedy/Romney because of their religion. Religion has been a big deal for political candidates going all the way back to 1928 when Al Smith became the first Catholic presidential nominee.
Was the editorial about race baiting? No, it was bringing up a quote and stating that Samuel Jackson was racist because he voted for President Obama because he was black. Samuel Jackson Read more: |
