Casting for Spike Lee's take on Oldboy continues, with only Josh Brolin locked in for certain as the lead. Actors such as Christian Bale and Clive Owen have been in talks at some point to play the villain, but that part remains free. The female lead has proved just as difficult to cast, but now Twitch report that may change if the excellent Elizabeth Olsen accepts the role..
For the female lead both Rooney Mara and Mia Wasikowska have been offered and rejected the part and Twitch has now learned that the role of Marie has been offered to Elizabeth Olsen.
Her performances in The Silent House, and particularly the brilliant The Martha Marcy May Marlene have the younger sister of The Olsen Twins one of the most sought after actresses working today. So it would definitely be a nice feather in Oldboy's cap if she were to accept this part. Read more: |
