According to THR, Mark Osborne (The Little Prince, Kung Fu Panda) has been tapped to direct an animated take on Jeff Smith's Bone for Warner Bros. Even if you'e not familiar with the comics, chances are you've seen the likeness of one of the little white characters at some point. The multi-award winning series ran from 1991 to 2004, and has enjoyed cult status for many years since. The story focuses on the Bone cousins (Fone, Phoney and Smiley) and their adventures in the wilderness with a girl named Thorn. “Bone is very special and unconventional because it blends elements together that you don’t necessarily expect — soft, little comic characters and epic high-stakes fantasy adventure," Osborne explains. "To carry this into the cinematic realm presents both an opportunity to represent what readers of all ages have loved about the series, while pushing animated storytelling into exciting and different areas."
