Fourth Starship Troopers Installment Will be Animated |

After the original film released in 1997, and ultimately becoming a cult-favorite of sorts, Sony Pictures released two direct-to-DVD sequels that actually did fairly well. There has been talk of a fourth film in the series for some time and now we have confirmation of that. This installment, however, will be taking a different route and be an animated feature.
Starship Troopers: Invasion is currently in production and on track for a Summer 2012 release. Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Halo Legend) is on board to direct the film, with Casper Van Dien producing (possibly returning to voice Johnny Rico as well) with script-writer Ed Neumeier, who penned the previous three films.
