In Nolanite's article he has quotes from Akroyd saying they plan to make Ghostbusters 3 with or without Bill Murray's involvement. One of the things that bothers me about Bill is that he clearly has no interest in making this film. He has a script sitting on his desk and he supposedly hasn't read it. Now, if he did or he didn't read it, that isn't important. His lack of interest is a warning sign that his heart is into the sequel and it may not be a bad thing not to have him in it.
