Good News For STAR WARS Fans! George Lucas Is Retiring From Directing |

"I’m retiring, Lucas told The New York Times in a lengthy piece on his latest movie, Red Tails. "I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff." While there's no denying that fans are grateful to the film-maker for creating the Star Wars franchise, the three prequels (all directed by Lucas) are for the most part unanimously hated among them.
It is for that reason then that you may be pleased by the news that he plans on giving up the director's chair on big budget movies for good. Producer Rick McCallum had this to add: "Once this is finished, he’s done everything he’s ever wanted to do. He will have completed his task as a man and a filmmaker."
