Who is IRON MONGER?
The first and most notable person to use the name IRON MONGER is OBADIAH STANE; he is a Marvel Comics supervillain mostly appearing in Iron Man books. Stane first appeared in Iron Man #200 (November 1985), and was created by Dennis O'Neil and Luke McDonnell.
First Appearance
The first appearance of the IRON MONGER armor was in Iron Man #200
A wealthy financier, OBADIAH STANE is president and CEO of his own company (Stane International) as a munitions dealer. He also goes into business with Howard Stark. After Stark and his wife died in a car accident, Stane turns his sights on acquiring control of Stark International, the industrial corporation he had worked with, now owned by Tony Stark (Howard's son).
