Deadline reports that Jack Ryan is set to be released in the 4th quarter of 2013 as Paramount start making plans for the film to be the first in a trilogy. Chris Pine (Star Trek) has already been cast as the title character (who in the past has been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck). Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean ) has now been confirmed as Anne Archer; an important casting choice for the studio as they potentially have plans to use the love interest in all three films. Based on the Tom Clancy novels, Jack Ryan will be directed by Kenneth Branagh (THOR), while he will also play the Russian villain who plots to destroy the US economy.
