James Mangold And Hugh Jackman On Their Plans To Humanize Wolverine In LOGAN PDF Print E-mail

The trailer for James Mangold's Logan presented a very different take on everyone's favorite clawed X-Man. Despite being inspired by the Old Man Logan comic book storyline, Logan is shaping up as much more down-to-earth, intimate exploration of Wolverine in what looks to be his final days. In the latest issue of Empire, Mangold said that his intention was to make a much more human film, as opposed to the spectacle found in previous installments of the X-Men franchise. “The goal was to make something human,” he said. “We made an effort to scale back on the gloss and greenscreen.” Hugh Jackman agreed with the director, further explaining that the most important part of the film is exploring Logan's legacy and whether or not he has made a difference during his life. "It's essential you see this as the story of a man who is struggling with mortality and legacy," the actor tells us, "and whether the world has been better off with him or
