It was revealed last month that star of AMC's The Killing, Joel Kinnaman, was in talks to play RoboCop in MGM's planned reboot of the franchise. Deadline now reports that the deal has been closed and he will play the character (originally brought to the big screen by actor Peter Weller in the 1987 film) in Jose Padhila's reboot of the franchise. They add that Strike Entertainment partners Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing with a script from Josh Zetumer.
