Johnny Depp Compares Tonto In The Lone Ranger To Captain Jack Sparrow |

Production on The Lone Ranger was canceled months ago due to budgetary concerns. But we recently heard that the movie was back on with Gore Verbinski still in the director's chair. Johnny Depp, who is set to play Tonto, was interviewed by Larry King on CNN this weekend, and said that their version of the movie has quite a bit of humor:
“There is a script, it’s a very funny, good script…there’s a boatload of humor.”
“What I like about Tonto is the idea that this character who is thought of as ‘the sidekick’—that’s the thing that always bugged me about The Lone Ranger is ‘Well why is the Indian the sidekick?
