We haven't heard anything on this one for a while, it was believed to be dead in the water in fact. But now reports are coming in that Chronicle director Josh Trank is in talks to bring one of Spider-Man's most popular villains to the screen in his own movie.
LA Times report..
The studio is negotiating with Josh Trank, the hot director of this winter’s found-footage hit "Chronicle," to take the reins of the Spidey spin-off, said a person familiar with the project who was not authorized to talk about it publicly. Sony was not immediately available for comment.
As we know, Trank was rumored to be in line to helm Fox's Fantastic Four reboot. The director frequently denied this and it appear she wasn't just playing coy.
