The news has just broken on a Walt Disney Investors Conference Call that Joss Whedon will return to write and direct the sequel to Marvel's The Avengers; the $1.5 billion dollar blockbuster of 2012. Bob Iger (the chairman and chief executive of The Walt Disney Company) also revealed that Whedon is involved with the development of an ABC live action television series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
