In an interview with MSN the actor who is best known to most of us as the main in villain in movies like; Sherlock Holmes, Kick-Ass, and John Carter. When asked if he was worried about being typecast as a villain he said no and actually is surprised that people mention it because early in his career as hard as he tried he couldn't land the bad guy roles.
He says that his first fifteen years of acting were filled with father and brother roles, and it took a part in a British television show, "The Long Firm" in order to change people's perception of him. After digging deep and delivering a performance that was filled with a tragic darkness he then become the go-to-guy for villain roles.
