Marvel Sony Set A Release Date For The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel |

The trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming may have just landed online late last night, but Sony Pictures is already thinking ahead... way ahead.
Just moments ago, the studio announced that a sequel to Homecoming will arrive in theaters on July 5, 2019 with Tom Holland, of course, reprising his role as Peter Parker.
Announcing a sequel this early isn't exactly Marvel's M.O., but considering that this is Spider-Man - their biggest property ever - we're talking about and Sony is co-producing the project, it's not really a huge surprise that they wanted to reserve a good date long before the first installment hit theaters. No word yet on the rest of the cast and crew, but expect to see more than a handful of returning faces come 2019.
At the moment, the only major competition will come in the form of Transformers 7, which releases a week earlier, but Spidey will likely benefit from the extended Fourth of July weekend, which is coincidentally the same weekend Spider-Man 2 was released on Read more: |
