Marvel's talking about designing each and every key character in Marvel's The Avengers as we count down to the Sept. 25th release date for Marvel's The Avengers. Previously, we've heard from concept artist on the look of Thor, Loki and Black Widow. Today, we look at Nick Fury, who was designed by Andy Park.
On whether he used the modern look in Marvel's comic books as a reference-
Andy Park: We always look back at the comics and see the integrations that have been shown through the years for every character. We also look at the Ultimates and Marvel Universe, and then run with that. The iconic look for the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are the straps along with the dark blue uniforms. We try to tread that line of being a military officer with a little bit more comic-book twist.
