Marvel Taps Alan Taylor To Helm THOR 2 |

When news broke that Patty Jenkins was off Thor 2, the obvious big question is who is going to take over for her. Marvel had narrowed their search down to two directors in Daniel Minahan and Alan Taylor. Now today, according to Deadline, Marvel have settled on Alan Taylor to helm Thor's next solo motion picture journey. Taylor's credits include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie.

Marvel Studios has found its Thor 2 director. I’m told that Marvel has set Alan Taylor, who was widely rumored to be on the short list to replace Patty Jenkins. Jenkins got the job but then fell out over differences with Marvel on the sequel.
Taylor joins returning scribe Don Payne, who will again return to write Thor's tale, along with stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tom Hiddleston. Thor 2 will be released on November 15, 2013.
