Today in Tokyo at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary presentation, Hideo Kojima, creator and director of the series, along with Hollywood producer Avi Arad, announce plans to adapt the video game into a movie. Avi Arad is best known for producing many Marvel films such as, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and the X-Men trilogy, to name a few.
“For many years I fought to bring comics to theaters—and video games are the comics of today,” said Arad. “We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, idealogy, cautionary tales needed.”
During the presentation Hideo Kojima list a few of his favorite Hollywood actors like Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman, and Ben Affleck. Oh, and his favorite director just happens to be The Dark Knight Rises' Christopher Nolan.
