While speaking with the LA Times' Hero Complex, director Michael Bay discusses his fourth entry in the highly successful Transformers movie franchise. He confirms that the film (which he says will be his last Transformers film, and will feature some robot redesigns) will have a different cast from the first three films, but will still be a continuation of the story. “It’s not a reboot, that’s maybe the wrong word,” Bay said. “I don’t want to say reboot because then people will think we’re doing a Spider-Man and starting from the beginning. We’re not. We’re taking the story that you’ve seen — the story we’ve told in three movies already — and we’re taking it in a new direction. But we’re leaving those three as the history.
