The Devil made his presence known last night, in devastating fashion no less as a deadly ultimatum led Stefan into killing Enzo and almost Bonnie & Elena, however, Bonnie was able turn the tables at the last moment when she turned the younger Salvatore back into a human, which if what happened to Katherine is any indicator, is likely a double-edged sword.
Next week, Damon is forced to strike a deal with Cade in order to save Stefan's soul from eternal damnation. He is tasked with recovering the newly-discovered Maxwell journal, but Alaric & Matt are reluctant to hand it over as it may be holding the ultimate key to ending Cade once and for all. Meanwhile, Caroline races to reach Stefan before Cade can carry through with his master plan.
