The Vampire Diaries returned last night with an episode directed by Ian Somerhalder and it proved to be one of the most devastatingly satisfying yet as Stefan returned to his ripper ways while Damon was able to relocate a piece of his long lost conscience.
Next week's episode will take the Salvatore brothers back to Mystic Falls where they reunite with Sybil, who has a new mission for them. Meanwhile, Bonnie & Enzo also return and may have made a major decision about their future. Plus, Damon seeks help from Caroline in handling an out-of-control Stefan, but runs into unexpected trouble when Stefan retaliates by recruiting Sybil, who promptly begins taunting the elder Salvatore with memories of his past.
