What is Elfquest? It is a fantasy story about a community of elves and other fictional species who struggle to survive and coexist on a primitive Earth-like planet with two moons. Several published volumes of prose fiction also share the same setting. Over the years Elfquest has been self-published by creators Wendy and Richard Pini, then Marvel Comics, then the Pinis again through their own company Warp Graphics and more recently DC Comics. - Wikipedia
In late January it was reported that Warner Bros. had decided to pass on making an Elfquest film. A project that in the past four years had contributions from screenwriter Joe Ahearne (Dr. Who) and the director of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Rawson Marshall Thurber. When Warner Bros. passed, the official ElfQuest Facebook page informed their fans with this somber message:
