OSCARS: GREEN LANTERN Only 2011 CBM Not Considered For Achievement in Visual Effects PDF Print E-mail

In the build up to the release of Green Lantern, perhaps the biggest talking point was the fully CGI suit that would be "worn" by Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. The first trailer resulted in a huge amount of backlash aimed at Warner Bros. and while this eventually started to die down by the time of release, the movie was still heavily criticized for both the awkward looking suit and generally poor visual effects throughout. It may then not come as too much of a surprise that Green Lantern is the only major 2011 comic book movie to not be considered by the Academy for an Oscar nod.
