Currently Paul Thomas Anderson is garnering a lot of well deserved praise for his latest film The Master, which has been praised by critics and moviegoers alike. Anderson has always been at the top of my list when it comes to directors that I'd like to see takeover the Batman franchise after Christopher Nolan so I am especially interested in his thoughts on Nolan's trilogy and his interest in blockbusters in general.
I’ve never really been asked to do [big tentpole blockbusters]. You look at what Christopher Nolan did with Batman, that’s like the meeting of the highest level of artistic skill & a kind of commerciality and appeal to a wide range of people which is what anybody would want.
