In an interview with The Radio Times, actress Jenny Agutter (who has a small role in The Avengers as a "council member") apparently let slip the fact that she had spotted Spider-Man on set during filming. While the internet has since lit up with stories declaring that Spidey will cameo in Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble, common sense says that this 59 year old woman isn't a superhero expert and simply dropped the names of the first couple of characters that popped into her head during the interview. Disney/Marvel Studios own The Avengers and Sony hold the rights to The Amazing Spider-Man. To think they could come to some sort of deal when there is literally billion of dollars involved is bordering on being totally ludicrous.
